Phase 2a is the section of the new railway between the West Midlands and Crewe. Across Phase 2a, our contractors are carrying out a range of preparatory activity that needs to be completed before we start building the new railway. This includes environmental and survey work.
To carry out this work safely, we will sometimes need to put temporary traffic management measures in place. The following is a summary of upcoming traffic management measures in areas across the Phase 2a route that we have published this week:
M6 (Hanchurch Interchange), Junction15 and the A500 – various closures from 30 August
Bar Hill, Madeley – temporary traffic lights (Tuesday 29 August and Friday 2 September from 9am to 5pm)
Heath Road, Whitmore – 15-minute temporary road closure of a small section (Thursday 25 August and Monday 29 August)
